
ANNOUNCEMENT — STATE ROAD 46 REDUCED SPEED LIMIT

ELLETTSVILLE, IN (MARCH 31, 2025): The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced their decision to reduce the speed limit on Indiana State Road 46 from 45 MPH to 35 MPH between the intersection of West Arlington Road, located east of the Town of Ellettsville. The reduced speed limit of 35 MPH will continue west through the Town of Ellettsville and become 45 MPH west of the intersection of Red Hill Road and State Road 46. The reduction in speed limit will be in effect on both westbound and eastbound lanes between these two intersections and in the one-way pairs that run through the center of Ellettsville.
Enforcement of this reduced speed limit will occur after INDOT has placed the new signage consistent with the new speed limit. Until that time, the posted speed limit of 45 MPH will continue to be enforced.
