ANNOUNCEMENT — COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) INFORMATION
Date Issued: 03/12/2020
Expiration Date: 04/30/2020
***UPDATE 03/16/2020 1:00 PM***
Effective immediately, the Administrative Offices of the Ellettsville Police Department and the lobby of our building are temporarily closed. All in-person administrative services are temporarily suspended. Our Administrative Assistant, Leah Fiegle, is still available by phone during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM).
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we hope this will allow us to maintain the health of our employees so we can provide the best service to our community during these trying times.
Effective immediately, the Ellettsville Police Department will be implementing temporary restrictions on access to our facility. While the lobby will remain open, no unauthorized personnel, including members of the public, will be allowed to travel beyond the lobby. This will affect some of the administrative services we provide, such as fingerprinting services.
We encourage members of the public to contact our administrative office at 812-876-2270 during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM) before traveling to the police department to be sure the administrative services you seek have not been temporarily suspended.
Additionally, our officers have been instructed to handle routine calls for service via telephone, when possible. This will not affect our officers' response to emergency calls for service.
The department continues to monitor the situation concerning COVID-19 and is working with our partners at the Monroe County Health Department and the Ellettsville Fire Department.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
